Grammie's Krafty Kabana
by Carol Gioia
The many hats I've worn in life,
in time would disappear,
child, student, teacher,
bookkeeper, volunteer.
While they were in style,
Each hat was worn with pride.
When passing time dictated change,
my hats were set aside.
The hats I cannot part with,
are mother, grandma, wife.
Though accessories keep on changing,
those hats I'll wear for life.
My hats are viewed with fondness,
For each one gave me pleasure.
My hatbox is my memory,
filled to the brim with treasure
