Handmade Burgundy and Gray Checker Board Set

 This checkers game board is crocheted in gray and burgandy. Checkers are crocheted in same color with 11 in gray and 12 in burgandy.

The game board is 19 x 22 and the checkers are 2 in diameter.
The game comes with a handy little carry all bag so you can keep all the pieces in one place. The bag ties with a drawstring at the top. 
Machine washable.
 
This checker board makes a great gift. 
I have a checker board set that I made for myself, I take it along on trips and camping trips for the kids (and myself).  With the carry all bag it can all be wrapped up nice and tight and won't take up much room.  And with being able to wrap it up so nice a neatly you dont have to worry about loosing the pieces.

FREE RECIPE
Raspberry Crumbcake
 
Ingredients                                 



2/3 cup sugar 1/4 cup cornstarch 3/4 cup water 2 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened raspberries 1 tablespoon lemon juice

CRUST:
 3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground mace
1 cup cold butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

TOPPING:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cold butter or
1/4 cup sliced almonds


Directions:


In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, water and raspberries. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil for 5 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice. Cool.


Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine the first six crust ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Beat eggs, milk and vanilla; add to crumb mixture and mix well. Spread two-thirds of the mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Spoon raspberry filling over crust to within 1 in of the edges. Top with remaining crust mixture. For topping, combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in almonds. Sprinkle over the top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50-55 minutes or until lightly browned.

Gathered style large shoulder strap purse is crocheted in a raspberry pink color with a black bandana bow that goes all the way around the purse. A large retro pink, black and white button is used as closure. The strap is attached with silver rings.


Purse measures 9 1/2 inches wide and 12 inches high, not including strap and 21 inches high, including strap.
This purse is spacious inside with the gathered look.


Each purse that I create is a one of a kind. It is unique in itself, therefore, there will never be another two exactly alike.

FREE CROCHET PATTERN FOR ACORN AMIGURUMIS.  These would be so cute for the autumn season coming up just around the corner.                        
 
You will need…


E US/3.5mm crochet hook
Small amount of worsted weight yarn in 2 colours (for acorn and cup)
Polyester fibrefill stuffing
Yarn needle to weave in ends
Stitch marker
Embellishments (see below for ideas)
Pipe cleaner to make twig (optional)

Acorn Pattern
worked from top to bottom

Make a magic ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 st)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 st)
Rnd 3: sc in each st around. (12 st)
Rnd 4: (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) six times. (18 st)
Rnds 5-10: sc in each st around. (18 st)
Rnd 11: (sc in next st, sc2tog) six times. (12 st). Stuff acorn through hole.
Rnd 12: sc2tog six times. Close up remaining hole, fasten off and weave in ends.

Acorn Cup Pattern           

Make a magic ring, ch 1.

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 st)
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) six times. (18 st)

Decorating:

Your acorn will need a cute face. This can be as simple as just two eyes, or you can embroider on a nose and/or mouth.
Sew on small round beads or buttons.
Embroider circles to make an alert acorn.
Embroider ‘u’ shapes to make a sleeping acorn.
Glue on googly eyes.

Framed Lucky Penny Holder In Pink

"They say find a penny, pick it up, and all day long you'll have good luck. Well this is your lucky penny.

Framed lucky penny holder with a striped blue and white fabric background with tiny little hearts. Penny is encircle with a pink hand crocheted holder. A little white bow accents the penny holder. It is framed with a 5 by 7 inch wooden look frame. The frame will set up or hang.
The penny is dated 2010.
This lucky penny is a great gift for a new baby, child or adults birthday. Or just to give anytime. Great gift to add into a wedding gift with the dated penny the same as the wedding date.
I will take custom orders for the lucky penny. In the color of background, color of holder, color of ribbon. If there is a certain year of penny you would like, I will do my best to find that year.

Now that your gardens are really producing and you have lots of Zucchinis to use.  Here is a great recipe to use some of those zucchinis. 
 

   Zucchini and Basil Cream Sauce.   

   Ingredients


1 cup chicken broth 2 garlic cloves, minced dash cayenne pepper 2 small carrots, julienned 4 medium zucchini, cut into 2-inch julienne strips 1 teaspoon cornstarch 1/4 cup 2% milk 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 tablespoon minced fresh basil 1/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Directions

In a large saucepan, bring the broth, garlic and cayenne to a boil; cook, uncovered, until mixture is reduced by a third. Add carrots. Reduce heat; cover and cook for 4-5 minutes or until tender. Add zucchini; cover and cook for 8-10 minutes or until tender. Drain.

Combine the cornstarch and milk until smooth; stir into vegetables. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add Parmesan cheese and basil; stir gently. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Friday night movie night

Easy Gyro Pizza

INGREDIENTS



1 can (13.8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated classic crust pizza
1/2 lb lean (at least 90%) ground turkey
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (6 oz)
3/4 cup coarsely chopped cucumber

1 medium tomato, coarsely chopped 4 thin slices red  onion
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese

DIRECTIONS


1. Heat oven to 425°F. Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray. Press pizza dough in bottom and slightly up sides of pan to form crust. Bake about 7 minutes or until crust just begins to turn brown on edges.


2. Meanwhile, in 6-inch skillet, cook turkey and garlic over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until turkey is no longer pink. Stir in oregano and salt.


3. Spread sour cream over warm crust. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese. Evenly top cheese with cooked turkey. Sprinkle with cucumber and tomato. Separate red onion into rings; arrange over tomato. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and the feta cheese.


4. Bake 13 to 14 minutes or until edges of crust are golden brown and cheese is melted.


Olive Chees Bites

INGREDIENTS

1 can (11 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated breadsticks
48 large pimiento-stuffed green olives (from two 10-oz jars), well drained
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons sesame seed, if desired
1 cup pasteurized process cheese sauce (from a jar)
3 tablespoons tomato juice
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

DIRECTIONS


1. Heat oven to 375°F. Spray cookie sheets with cooking spray. Remove dough from can; separate into 12 breadsticks. Cut each into 4 pieces; flatten each piece.


2. For each appetizer, place 1 olive in center of each piece of dough. Wrap dough around olive to completely cover, stretching dough to fit if necessary and pressing edges firmly to seal. Dip tops into beaten egg, then into sesame seed; place seam side down on cookie sheets.


3. Bake 11 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.


4. Meanwhile, in 1-quart saucepan, mix cheese sauce, tomato juice and ground red pepper. Cook over low heat 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly, until cheese sauce melts and mixture is well blended. Serve as dip with warm appetizers.




Strawberry Lemonade






INGREDIENTS


1 box (4-serving size) strawberry-flavored gelatin
1 cup boiling water
2 boxes (10 oz each) frozen strawberries in light syrup, partially thawed
1 quart (4 cups) fresh strawberries, hulled
1 can (12 oz) frozen lemonade concentrate, partially thawed
1/2 cup sugar
1 bottle (11.2 oz) hard lemonade 5% alcohol beverage or 1 can (12 oz) lemon-lime carbonated beverage
6 additional bottles (11.2 oz each) hard lemonade 5% alcohol beverage or 1 bottle (2 liters) lemon-lime carbonated beverage or ginger ale, chilled




DIRECTIONS


1. In 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish, place gelatin; pour boiling water on gelatin; stir until gelatin is dissolved.


2. In food processor, place strawberries in syrup, fresh strawberries, lemonade concentrate and sugar. Cover; process until smooth. Pour into gelatin. Stir in 1 bottle hard lemonade. Freeze 4 to 6 hours or overnight until slush consistency, stirring after 2 hours.


3. To serve, spoon 1/2 cup slush mixture into each glass; pour 1/3 cup hard lemonade over each. Stir and serve.

Ingredients



1 cup ice cubes 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka 2 fluid ounces cranberry juice 1 fluid ounce grapefruit juice


Directions


Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Pour in the vodka, cranberry juice, and grapefruit juice; stir to mix.


Enjoy this refreshing drink to neighbors, family and friends on a warm summer afternoon using these wonderful glass cozy coasters.

Recipe for Buffalo Chicken Pizza

BUFFALO CHICKEN RECIPE
Perfect recipe for a fun evening for 2 using this great set of 3, Pizza For Two Pizza Mat and 2 Dinner Plate Placemats.



Ingredients



1 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cooked and cubed 2 teaspoons butter, melted 1/3 (2 ounce) bottle hot sauce 1/3 (8 ounce) bottle blue cheese salad dressing 1/3 (16 inch) prepared pizza crust 1/3 (8 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese


Directions


This recipe's Ingredients were scaled to yield a new amount. The directions below still refer to the original recipe yield of 6 servings.


Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).


In a medium bowl combine the cubed chicken, melted butter and hot sauce. Mix well. Spread whole bottle of salad dressing over crust, then top with chicken mixture and sprinkle with shredded cheese.


Bake in preheated oven until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly, about 5 to 10 minutes. Let set a few minutes before slicing, and serve.

Enjoy this recipe, it is easy and delicious.
